Name: Ghulam Hassan Khan ( born 11 January 1907 & died on 31 January 2003 )
Parents: Ghulam Qadir & Khurshappa.

Scholarship: He graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and was the topper in the university. He became ” First Kashmiri” to receive his prestigious scholarship at Harvard University in 1928.

He studied engineering at Harvard University and returned home & served his nation for 32 years as an engineer. He was the engineer who built the Zero Bridge.

It’s not Zorr bridge fantasy: Officially it is said to have been named Zero Bridge since traditionally the Amira Kadal bridge was regarded as the first bridge on the Jhelum as it entered Srinagar and the Zero bridge preceded this ‘first’ bridge.

He served as an assistant engineer, then divisional engineer, Chief engineer in PWD & irrigation, principal Polytechnical college.
