As many of us are impatiently waiting Eid ul Fitr 2021 date in Pakistan to be announced, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in North Waziristan District of Pakistan is going to celebrate Eid today i.e on May 12, as the resident clerics have claimed to have sighted Shawwal moon.

Moon sighted in Pakistan: According to the official announcement of Pakistan’s central Ruet Hilal Committee, the moon of Shawwal Al-Mubarak has been sighted.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Thursday, (Tomorrow)

Eid ul Fitr Most Likely To Be Celebrated across Pakistan day after tomorrow i.e on 13 May (Thursday) . Kashmir, therefore is also going to observe Eid ul Fitr on 13 May 2021, Thi.

As per the tweet of Mohsin Dawar, a member of the National Assembly from North Waziristan, as many as 20 people in the Haider khel area of North Waziristan witnessed the sight of Shawwal moon.

His tweet goes as “As we celebrate Eid tomorrow on 12 may 2021, our thoughts and prayers will be with the families of missing persons, of those who’ve been killed extra-judicially and by terrorists and we will be praying for peace in the region,”


Earlier, it was reported that in an attempt to ensure that Eid ul Fitr 2021 is celebrated / announced the same day across the country this year, Ruet-i-Hilal Committee members have started approaching and persuading the clerics who had publicly opposed the announcement related to Shawwal moon sighting by the national body in the past.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had couple of days before predicted that the chance of sighting the new moon of Shawwal 1442 AH on the evening of May 12 i.e. 29th of Ramadan (Wednesday) is almost none


As per PMF, the Eid ul Fitr 2021 date in Pakistan (1st Shawwal) will most likely fall on Friday.


Weather Dept of Pakistan in a statement said that the new moon of Shawwal, 1442 AH will be born on 12 May, 2021 (Wednesday)


The crescent of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar, will most likely to be sighted on Thursday evening, the May 13 and Eid ul Fitr will be announced accordingly.

Thus the Eid ul Fitr 2021 date in Pakistan will fall on Friday (May 14) and not today as claimed by Dawar.
