Firstly, open the WhatsApp and go to settings. You can do so by tapping on three dots on the top right corner.

Now here is the trick, you need to copy the two symbols mentioned in the brackets (⇨ ຸ)

Tap on the ‘pencil’ icon in front of your name and paste these two symbols there in place of your current name

After this, remove the ‘arrow’ (⇨) and tap on Ok button to change your name

Once done, your name will go blank on WhatsApp
Note : The above action only works only for unknown people. That means the people who have your phone number saved in their devices can see your number.
Making You Name Black on WhatsApp
Now, if you are interested in making your name completely black on WhatsApp, you can easily get away with just adding any special characters like dot (.), comma (,), etc in the name field. Users will then only see a dot (.) in place of your name.
