In one of its first kind amid the panic and scare over the deadly COVID-19 outbreak, an animal (horse) was sent to quarantine in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the officials, the authorities in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir have ordered to send a horse to home quarantine for a period of four weeks to thwart any chance of Covid-19 spread. The horse was brought from Kashmir valley to Rajouri by its owner on Tuesday.
The man along with the horse returning from Kashmir Valley via Mughal road were intercepted by a team of police. The man was immediately taken into medical custody while as the horse’s fate was undecided.
Anjum Khatak, Tehsildar Thanamandi, intervened and sought advice from veterinary experts on the said horse. After due thoughts, the horse was sent to home quarantine as a precaution considering previous instances of animal getting covid infection in various parts of the world
