Jammu Kashmir Schools Closed Till May 31st Following Covid-19 Scare
SRINAGAR, MAY 05: Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu today chaired a high-level meeting, wherein he announced that the schools in Jammu Kashmir are likely to remain closed till 31st May amid Covid-19 scare as all the educational institutions need to be properly sanitized before made functional again, as per news sources
The meeting was attended by Advisor KK Sharma, Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Schools EducationDr Samoon, Div Comm Kashmir PK Pole and other high-level officials.
The main aim of today ‘s meeting was to review the education scenario in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir amid COVID-19 lockdown.
During the said meeting, LG, Murmu announced that it may not be possible to reopen the schools in Jammu Kashmir till 31st May 2020 and during this time period the department should take up infrastructural repairs. He emphasized that before the schools and colleges are reopened, all educational institutions should be properly sanitized and fumigated.
