40 People Sent Into Quarantine At SKIMS After Patient Tests Positive

A 40 year old patient (woman), who had been admitted at SKIMS (Sher i Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences ) for almost a month has tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) , setting the alarm bells ringing. The incident has made the hospital administration take prompt action as at least 40 healthcare staff has been sent into quarantine to avoid any surge in positive cases in the valley.

The coronavirus( Covid-19 ) patient, hailing from Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag had pancreatitis and was admitted in gastroenterology ward of SKIMS (Soura, Kashmir)

Due to the patient, having got the infection the containment measures have been put in place to overcome the possible spread of the virus.

Dr Jan informed that about 40 people who were associated with the same ward had been put in quarantine, out of which 12 are resident doctors.
